Hi Mary,

Thanks for making a comment about my book. To answer your questions, though the book is set in motion by a tragic act, it does not focus on that or provide grisly details. While writing, I was more interested in the reaction of the family, the nature and nurture that created Jane and the tipping points in her life that might shed light on her rapid mental decline. I, too, don't like reading about abuse and depravity and I wouldn't have been able to write about it. One reviewer told me I had accomplished something of a literary Hitchcock because the reader knows about the crimes, fears they are hiding in the next closet, but doesn't have them displayed in an in-your-face fashion. I liked that!

Sorry for the long message.

Thanks again for your comments!
